Rovers will face Accrington Stanley in pre-season for the first time since 2018.

They will travel to the Wham Stadium to face Stanley on Saturday, July 9 (3pm).

That is the fourth pre-season fixture to be announced for Rovers, all to be played away from home.

Rovers last faced Stanley in 2018, with Billy Kee’s goal giving Stanley a 1-0 victory.

The Stanley fixture looks set to be Rovers’ first of the close season, with games at Celtic (July 16), Hartlepool United (July 20) and Lincoln City (July 23) all confirmed so far.

Ticket prices have been announced, £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Rovers say sale information, and other friendly information, will be confirmed in due course.

Stanley are the second League One opposition that Rovers will face, with Lincoln City also booked in, with Scottish Premiership champions and League Two outfit Hartlepool United also in the close season schedule.

Rovers will spend time away from their Brockhall training base during pre-season, which will be confirmed in due course, with the pre-season schedule having been drawn up prior to the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Stanley plan to face four Championship sides in pre-season, with Rovers the first. They have also announced a friendly with Glossop North End on Tuesday, July 12.
