Rovers have announced their first pre-season friendly for the upcoming summer.
They will travel to face Celtic in a close season game on Saturday, July 16 (12:30pm).
The game at Celtic Park will be part of Rovers’ friendly programme ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Due to the scheduling of the World Cup in December, the EFL season has been brought forward to start on Saturday, July 30 to accommodate the mid-season break in November.
It is a first friendly against Celtic since 2010 when goals from David Dunn and Alan Judge gave Sam Allardyce’s side a 2-1 win.
Rovers played Celtic’s Glasgow rivals Rangers in a pre-season friendly in 2019 when a Lewis Travis equaliser saw the game end 1-1.
The only competitive meeting between Rovers and Celtic came in 2002 when they met in a UEFA Cup tie, with Scottish side winning 3-0 on aggregate.
Celtic are currently six points clear at the top of the table, looking well set to regain their Scottish Premiership crown.
