BURNLEY are predicted to beat the drop and maintain their Premier League status, according to a supercomputer.

The Clarets are out of the bottom three following back-to-back wins against Southampton and Wolves.

They are expected to finish 17th and narrowly escape relegation, according to football statistics website FiveThirtyEight.

The table, which is based on a wide range of data from the season so far, predicts that Everton will finish in the bottom three following their 2-0 defeat at Liverpool.

While Frank Lampard’s men have a game in hand on the Clarets, they still have the likes of Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal before the end of the season.

Leeds have also been dragged into the relegation picture – the Yorkshire club are now just two points above Burnley ahead of tonight’s trip to Crystal Palace.

Elsewhere, current leaders Manchester City are predicted to pip Liverpool to the Premier League title.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also tipped to make the top four, with Tottenham and Manchester United missing out.
