Premier League pundits heap praise on Burnley after Wolves win

Matej Vydra got the decisive goal during the second half as the Clarets made it back-to-back wins at Turf Moor and climbed out of the bottom three.

Jenas was impressed with the performance and reckons it epitomised “what Burnley are about”.

Speaking as a pundit on Match of the Day 2, he said: “I watched the game in midweek and you could see that they had a spring in their step. They took that into the game today.

"The fight, the passion, the desire was all there – all the attributes you would expect from a team fighting for survival.

“The organisation I thought was key, defensively they were solid. From midfield to defence, Tarkowski throwing himself in front of the ball. But it was the next bits – the second ball, the ugly side – mixed with calm elements.

“It is what Burnley are about - they backed (each other) up, they were team-mates throughout and the celebration at the end epitomised everything.

“It was like, ‘we going to fight, we are in this, we have found something’. There was a buzz around the place and they were a pleasure to watch and definitely deserved the win.”

Connor Roberts has impressed in the last couple of matches since coming back into the side, and Richards singled out the Welshman for praise.

He added: “Look at his passion and desire, his anticipation. The modern day right-back loves to go forward but can you do the defensive work? He certainly has.

“I know he scored a wonderful goal against Southampton but his all-round game - he struggled with pneumonia at the start of the season but he has really come into his own now.”
