SAM Allardyce is the current favourite to become the new Burnley manager following Sean Dyche’s departure, according to the bookies.

Dyche was the longest-serving manager in the Premier League, having been in charge of the Clarets for nine-and-a-half years.

He achieved two promotions from the Championship and even European qualification during his time at Turf Moor.

Under-23s manager Michael Jackson, Paul Jenkins, Connor King and Ben Mee will take charge of the team for Sunday’s trip to West Ham.

Allardyce has been out of work since leaving West Brom last summer after failing to keep the Baggies in the Premier League.

Former Clarets Michael Duff also ranks highly, having received praise for the job he has done at Cheltenham in League One.

Nuno Espirito Santos, current Derby boss Wayne Rooney and Rafa Benitez also make up the top five.
