FULHAM boss Marco Silva has called his side’s 2-0 win against Rovers “a big result”.

Neeskens Kebano opened the scoring midway through the first half, firing home after Thomas Kaminski had failed to hold onto Neco Williams' effort.

Harry Wilson doubled the hosts' lead 10 minutes later, providing a cool finish after getting on the end of Tosin Adarabioyo's pass.

The result sees Silva’s men extend their lead at the top of the Championship table to 11 points.

The Fulham chief was delighted with his side’s first-half display but admits Rovers grew into the game after the break.

“A massive win. A very good first half from ourselves. Quality on the ball and a fantastic reaction when we lost it as well,” he told the club's website.

“We knew before the match they can create problems on the counter-attack, we controlled it very well. We had some very good moments. We were the best team on the pitch definitely.

“In the second half, we expected a reaction from them. Some moments we should move the ball quicker, we have to be more patient when you are winning 2-0.

“We don’t need to rush all of our decisions and control the game better. Winning 2-0 at home against a contender at home is a big result. The clean sheet is fantastic for us and a good feeling.”

Rovers have now won just one of their last seven matches in the Championship.

Tony Mowbray’s men are back in action on Tuesday night when they welcome Millwall to Ewood Park (KO 7:45pm).
