TOTTENHAM boss Antonio Conte insists it is “never east to play against Burnley” ahead of tonight’s trip to Turf Moor.

The Clarets enter the game in high spirits following Saturday’s 3-0 victory at Brighton – their first away win of the season.

Sean Dyche’s men have now lost just one of their last five league matches and Conte insists they have what it takes to beat the drop.

"Maybe it's the worst period to play against them because they have had fantastic results and played a good game," he said.

"They drew with Manchester United and away at Arsenal, and they beat Brighton 3-0.

"They lost only 1-0 against Liverpool but the game was in the balance. For us they will be a really tough team, we have to know this.

"It's never easy to play against Burnley. They have a good manager that is showing in these years that his managing is very good, and maybe he could deserve something more.

"I appreciate his job and what he's doing with Burnley. Remember one month ago many people said Burnley were relegated, but I'm sure they can save this season and I think Burnley are doing a fantastic job."

Conte’s men ran out 3-2 winners at leaders Manchester City in their last outing thanks to Harry Kane’s dramatic late winner.

The London club are currently eighth in the Premier League table – seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester United despite having played three games fewer.

Spurs recorded a narrow 1-0 victory when the sides met in the Carabao Cup earlier this season thanks to Lucas Moura’s second-half header.
