BURNLEY are predicted to avoid relegation from the Premier League, according to a supercomputer.

The Clarets are expected to finish 17th and narrowly escape relegation to the Championship, according to football statistics website FiveThirtyEight.

The table is based on a wide range of data from the season so far and predicts that Sean Dyche’s men are only 34% likely to finish in the bottom three.

Burnley climbed off the foot of the table thanks to an emphatic 3-0 win at Brighton over the weekend.

The Clarets are currently five points from safety but have several games in hand on the sides around them, with the first set to take place against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

The table predicts that Norwich will finish bottom, with Watford and Newcastle also finishing in the drop zone.

At the other end, current leaders Manchester City are said to have a massive 77% chance of winning the Premier League.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are also predicted to finish in the top four, with Manchester United and Tottenham set to miss out.
