BURNLEY are weighing up a move for Livingston defender Jack Fitzwater, according to reports.

The 24-year-old – who stands at 6ft 3in – has impressed for the Scottish Premiership side this season.

However, the Clarets could face competition from Premier League rivals Watford, according to The Daily Mail.

Fitzwater is under contract until 2023 and Livingston would reportedly demand a fee around £1 million for his services.

The defender came through West Brom’s youth ranks and also had loan spells at Chesterfield, Forest Green Rovers and Walsall.

He joined Livingston in the summer of 2020 and has made 28 appearances for the Lions this season, becoming an important member of the squad.

Burnley defender James Tarkowski - who is out of contract in the summer - has been linked with a move to Newcastle this month.

Sean Dyche's men sit at the foot of the table despite holding Arsenal to a goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium over the weekend.

However, the Clarets have several games in hand on the sides around them after having multiple games postponed due to Covid cases and injuries.

Dyche’s men are back in action on Saturday, February 5 when they welcome Watford to Turf Moor (KO 6pm).
