Bradley Dack is in contention to make his long-awaited return to action for Rovers Under-23s on Monday.

Dack has been out since March after suffering his second anterior cruciate knee ligament injury against Brentford.

The Rovers talisman has been back in training for over a month and has pushed for inclusion in an Under-23s fixture.

That could come tomorrow night, as the same time as the first-team host Middlesbrough, with the final decision to be taken after training today.

Dack spent 12 months on the sidelines with his first ACL injury, returning for the Boxing Day visit of Sheffield Wednesday in 2020 after injuring his knee against Wigan the previous December.

The 28-year-old played 17 times, scoring three goals, including the two matches prior to suffering his second injury in the 1-0 defeat to Brentford on March 12 2021.

Dack is expected to play three times for the Under-23s before pushing for first-team inclusion once again.

Asked if Dack would feature tomorrow night, Tony Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph: “We’ve had that discussion, we’ll see how he trains.

“I’ll talk with him after training, there’s a potential but not a guarantee.

“The medical department feel that’s he’s just about ready, he’s been training for six weeks on the grass every day.

“At some stage you have to expose him to that first game and there’s a potential that he might play in that game.”
