BURNLEY have made an enquiry for Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke, according to reports.

The Clarets are keen to bolster their striking department following Chris Wood’s £25 million move to Newcastle.

The Eagles will only let the 31-year-old leave Selhurst Park if their £12 million valuation is met, according to The Daily Mail.

Aston Villa brought Benteke to the Premier League in the summer of 2012 after the forward impressed for Genk.

The Belgian went on to score 49 goals in 101 games for the Midlands outfit before joining Liverpool for £32.5 million.

However, Benteke’s time on Merseyside didn’t work out and he joined the Eagles in the summer of 2016.

The forward scored a brace in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor earlier this season.

The Clarets have also been linked with a move for Liverpool's Divock Origi as they bid to maintain their Premier League status.

Sean Dyche’s men are scheduled to face relegation rivals Watford at Turf Moor on Tuesday night (KO 7:30pm).
