Rovers have announced the signing of Hertha Berlin defender Deyovaisio Zeefuik.

The right back has agreed a loan deal until the end of the season with the option for that to be made permanent.

The 23-year-old arrived in England last week to finalise the move before undergoing a period of isolation.

The deal has now been ratified with Zeefuik having undergone a period of isolation.

Hertha Berlin have confirmed there is an option in place to make the deal permanent.

Sporting Director Fredi Bobic said:“In the past few days, Deyo has had the opportunity to move to England.

"He would like to use this chance for more playing time and for further development.

"We have now reached an agreement with Blackburn that suits everyone and we wish him every success in his future role."

Zeefuik is a 15-times capped Netherlands Under-21 international who has made 11 Bundelisga appearances for Hertha, featuring in their three matches before the winter break before testing positive for Covid.

He has played 34 times in all since making a €4m switch to Germany from Groningen where he played 73 times for the Eredivisie side

Zeefuik has played 34 times in all since making a €4m switch to Germany from Groningen where he played 73 times for the Eredivisie side.

He follows James Brown in signing for the club in January after he agreed a short-term deal following the expiry of his contract with League of Ireland side Drogheda United.

Zeefuik will wear the No.42 shirt.
