JUVENTUS midfielder Aaron Ramsey has rejected an approach from Burnley, according to reports in Italy.

The former Arsenal man has been linked with a return to the Premier League amid rumours of a row with manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Ramsey left the Gunners in the summer of 2019 and has since made 49 appearances for the Italian giants.

However, opportunities have been hard to come by this season and he has made just one start in Serie A.

Newcastle have also been linked with the midfielder as they aim to strengthen their squad and pull away from the Premier League drop zone.

"I can confirm that one Juventus player, Ramsey, can probably come back to the Premier League,” said Sky Sports Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio.

“He had an official proposal from Burnley but he said ‘no’, he doesn’t want to play for Burnley.

“He wants to play more a more challenging team, an ambitious team in the Premier League.

"Newcastle asked for him before Christmas so we'll see in January if some Premier League teams want Ramsey.

"He would like to come back because now, at Juventus, he's in a difficult situation."

The Clarets are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Huddersfield in the FA Cup third round (KO 12:30pm).
