Maxwel Cornet continued his impressive form, getting a goal and an assist as the Ivory Coast recorded a 3-0 win against Mozambique in a World Cup qualifier.
The winger also featured in a 1-0 defeat against Cameroon which ruled the Elephants out of qualification for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Connor Roberts was on target as Wales ran out 5-1 winners against Belarus to go second in Group E.
Burnley team-mate Wayne Hennessey came off the bench for Rob Page’s side, replacing Danny Ward in stoppage time.
And Chris Wood bagged a brace as New Zealand secured a 2-0 victory against Gambia in a friendly in Abu Dhabi.
Elsewhere, Bailey Peacock-Farrell – who is currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday - kept a clean sheet as Northern Ireland drew 0-0 with European champions Italy.
Matej Vydra also featured as the Czech Republic recorded a 2-0 win against Estonia to stay just one point behind Wales in Group E.
The Clarets return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace to Turf Moor (KO 3pm).
