DEFENDER Hannah Coan is loving life back at Rovers Ladies after a spell on loan last season.

Coan originally joined in January from Everton but made her temporary switch permanent in the summer ahead of the new FA Women’s Championship campaign.

And she is happy with hos the season has progressed personally so far.

Coan told the Rovers club website: ““I’ve really enjoyed being back here this season and you can see a big difference in the team this season compared to last.

“Everyone’s really together here now so that’s made moving here full-time a lot easier.

“Then personally, I’ve started all the games this season bar one which is great for my confidence, and it just feels good to be playing every week.”

The 20-year-old has started eight of Rovers’ nine games this season and she is pleased to have been trusted to play a pivotal part.

“It definitely feels great to be trusted to start so many games this season,” she continued.

“I’ve got players around me that have a lot more experience and they’ve helped me a lot this season to settle in on the pitch.

“But having Gemma, the staff’s, and my team-mates’ trust to start so many games this season feels really good.”

Primarily a centre-back, Coan has slotted into the left-back role this campaign and is happy to help wherever she is needed.

She said: “It’s good for me to be able to play in both positions and to test myself in both.

“We have a lot of players in the squad that can play centre back this season so to have another position that I can play in to help the team is great.”

The youngster was also delighted to pick up her first Player-of-th-Match award last week in the side’s Continental Tyres League Cup game against Sunderland.

She added: “It’s great to build up some consistency and getting in the starting 11 each week is key to that so hopefully that will continue throughout the season.

“Personally, it’s nice to be recognised for your performances and the result wasn’t what we wanted but it was a big boost of confidence to get my first Player-of-the-Match award here.”
