Rovers will assess the fitness of Ryan Nyambe before deciding his involvement for Namibia during the international break.

Nyambe returned to the starting line-up for the defeat to Fulham having missed the win at Derby County with a hamstring strain.

The same injury ruled Nyambe out of his country’s matches in September while concussion, alongside coronavirus quarantine restrictions, forced him to withdraw from the World Cup qualifiers in October.

The 23-year-old has now been named in the Brave Warriors squad for their November fixtures, but Rovers will first assess his fitness before agreeing to his release due to ongoing concerns over his hamstrings.

Namibia face two World Cup qualifiers this month, facing Congo in Brazzaville on Thursday, November 11 before Bobby Samaria's side face Togo in Johannesburg on Monday, November 15. Senegal have already topped the four-team group to book their place in the next round, with only pride to play for, with the other trio of teams on four points.

Nyambe made his debut for Namibia in June 2019 but has only won seven caps for his side, and only four in the last two years because of unavailability.

Mowbray will today give an update on the fitness of the right back, but previously indicated it would be likely that he would be only able to play one of the two matches this week after returning from injury.

That could open the door for Joe Rankin-Costello to return at right back, after getting a first outing of the season in the closing stages of the Fulham defeat, with Hayden Carter likely to be needed at centre half with Daniel Ayala injured and Jan Paul van Hecke to serve the first game of a three-match ban.
