Tosin Adarabioyo will miss out on a return to Ewood Park after picking up the first red card of his career.

The Fulham defender was sent off late in the win over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend and has been hit with a three-game suspension for serious foul play.

It was a first red card of the 24-year-old’s career, with Adarabioyo having gone the entirety of his loan spell at Rovers in 2019/20 without picking up a yellow card.

Indeed, he had only been booked five times in his 128-game career before being shown a red card in the 3-0 win over the Baggies as Fulham continued their good form ahead of the visit to face Rovers on Wednesday night.

Adarabioyo impressed in his season-long stay at Rovers, scoring three times in 35 appearances, and his form during that loan spell saw Fulham make a move for him on a permanent basis following their promotion to the Premier League.

They will be hunting for something similar this time around after their relegation last time out, and look well placed under Marco Silva, sitting second in the table.

Adarabioyo has started 14 of the 15 Championship matches so far this season, with his place in the side likely to be taken by Michael Hector.

Another former Rovers loanee, Harrison Reed, could be set to feature after starting at the weekend.

Reed played 36 times for Rovers in 2018/19 before Fulham signed him on loan the following year and then made the move permanent last summer.

He took the place of another ex-Rovers favourite, Tom Cairney, for the West Brom win. Cairney, is just back from a long-term knee injury and is now up to 220 games for the Cottagers since leaving Rovers in the summer of 2015.
