By skill and hard work, Arte et Labore, a motto which Blackburn Rovers adorns and looks to live up to.

At the Lancashire Telegraph, we look to follow a similar mantra in our coverage of the club.

If you haven’t already noticed, you will do from now going forward, that a blue ‘premium’ tag will appear at the top of some of our articles. Those will soon become subscriber-only content, accessible to those who have signed up to the Lancashire Telegraph.

Last month we published close to 150 stories on Rovers, from the first-team, boardroom, Academy, Ladies team, and the Chilean national side.

The majority of those will remain free-to-read, we are not disappearing completely behind a paywall.

There will still be the latest on injuries and transfers, Matchday Live blogs, manager reaction and pre-match build-up, player interviews, but beyond that, there will be a push towards more in-depth analysis both prior to, and following, matches, as well as audio and video content, plus features with the people who help make Rovers the club it is.

To enable us to do that, we’re asking for your support.

My affinity with Rovers started, down to my age rather than anything else that happened that year, in the 1994/95 season. My first game the following year brought with it a Shearer hat-trick, and for the last five years reporting on the club has been my life.

From the moment I wake up, sometimes at 2am if it concerns our new Chilean sensation, to when I go to bed, Rovers and content ideas are never far from my mind.

In my time as Rovers correspondent, I have tried to offer balanced coverage, in good times and bad, and aimed to become a trusted figure and tried to encapsulate the mood of the fans in that time.

There will still be many stories that are free to read, much of the written premium content will be available by picking up a copy of the paper six days a week.

If you do opt for a digital subscription, other benefits include 80 per cent less advertising on your devices, meaning faster loading pages and a much better user experience. This will be across all articles on our site.

We are currently offering a subscription to the Lancashire Telegraph site for an introductory price of £2 for two months. In the coming days there will be some ‘premium’ articles made free to read to give you a taste of how it is likely to work, and what content you will be able to access.

Any questions, or even suggestions of coverage, feel free to get in touch via richard.sharpe@nqnw.co.uk, or if social media is your thing, @richsharpe89 on Twitter.
