Jan Paul van Hecke will make his Rovers debut as Tony Mowbray named his side to face Coventry City.

It includes four changes with van Hecke handed his first involvement as Rovers switched to a back three against the Sky Blues.

The Brighton loanee is yet to play for Rovers since his season-long switch because of injury, but he will line-up as part of a back three.

Ryan Nyambe returned after his concussion to take his place at right wing-back, Darragh Lenihan returned from a thigh injury to captain the side, while Tayo Edun made his first start at left wing back.

Ben Brereton was one of the four players to drop out of the side, with Tyler Magloire, Hayden Carter and Harry Pickering the others to make way.

Pickering (tonsillitis) saw his ever-present record come to an end, though Tyrhys Dolan shook off the same illness to take his place in the side.

Sam Gallagher is also passed fit to play, though tonsillitis has ruled Reda Khadra out of action.

The big news on the bench is that top scorer Brereton is named among the substitutes, having landed back in the UK last night.

His inclusion on the bench is a boost for Rovers who weren’t expecting to see the 22-year-old until Tuesday night’s trip to QPR.
