Matt Kilgallon has called time on his career and has moved into the world of sports agency.

The 37-year-old announced his decision to hang up his boots and he will now take up a position within Palm Sports Management.

Kilgallon made over 400 career appearances with the 37-year-old having spent last season with non-league side Buxton. They were the 10th club of Kilgallon’s career which included three years at Ewood Park.

The defender arrived at Rovers in 2013 and stayed until his release in 2016 after playing 64 matches and scoring two goals.

Kilgallon came through the ranks at Leeds United, with his spell at Sheffield United between 2007 and 2010 the only two clubs in his career that he represented more than Rovers.

Announcing his decision on social media, Kilgallon wrote: “Trusted these guys with my career and now absolutely thrilled to be taking my next step alongside them. 

“I’ve hung my boots up and ready to start representing others in the beautiful game.”
