FOUR Burnley players have been shortlisted for the 2021 North West Football Awards.

Chris Wood is up for the Premier League Player of the Season award after finishing as the Clarets’ top-scorer last term.

The New Zealand international found the net 12 times in 33 top-flight matches, reaching double figures for the fourth successive season.

Lewis Richardson has also been shortlisted for the Rising Star award after impressing for the club’s Under-23 side.

The young striker made his first-team debut back in February, coming off the bench in a 4-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, Nicola Worthington is up for the Women’s Player of the Season award after shining in the Clarets’ FA Cup run.

And Katie Thomas has been shortlisted for the Women’s Rising Star award, having scored six goals in seven games before the season was called off due to the pandemic.

Fans can vote here, and voting closes at 5pm on Friday, October 15.

The award ceremony will take place on Monday, November 22 at Emirates Old Trafford and will be hosted by broadcaster Dan Walker.
