Harvey Elliott has interest from 10 clubs as Liverpool prepare to make a decision on his future.

Elliott has impressed for Liverpool in pre-season, playing 135 minutes, the fifth most in the squad, and the most likely course of action is that he stays around the squad for the Premier League season.

The teenager impressed during a season-long stay at Rovers having signed on deadline day in October, the Reds having made a late call to allow Elliott to leave on a temporary deal.

He caught the eye with seven goals and 11 assists and that has attracted interest from a number of Premier League and Championship sides.

The latest interest has come from recently-relegated side Sheffield United who feel they have an advantage over their rivals should Elliott become available.

New Blades boss Slavisa Jokanovic handed Elliott his professional debut, aged just 15, when the pair worked together at Fulham, and there is the prospect of them linking up again should Liverpool agree to their request.

It is suggested that United are yet to make an official approach, but have let Liverpool know of their desire to take him on loan, but staying around the first-team picture is Elliott’s aim, and the most likely course of action.

While Rovers would love to have the talents of Elliott on board, a return to Ewood Park has always been deemed unlikely, with Tony Mowbray focused on unearthing another Premier League talent to replicate his impact.

He said: “We need more individual talent, players who can beat players. Harvey Elliott brought that to an extent last year with his individuality and range of passing, they’re not easy to find, you can’t just pluck them out of the air.”

Elliott signed a long-term deal with Liverpool last month on the back of his impressive season-long stay at Ewood and outlined his hopes to take on a first-team role which could be impacted by the future of Xherdan Shaqiri who is looking for an Anfield exit.
