Rovers fans will get the first opportunity to watch their side live at Ewood Park for 17 months when they host Leeds United next week.

The club have now published ticketing information for supporters wanting to watch the friendly, the first time Ewood will have opened its door for fans since February 2020.

Away supporters will also be in attendance, with Leeds fans having been able to watch their side just once since the first lockdown, that being the final day win over West Bromwich Albion on May 23.

As well as prices, Rovers have also revealed the measures supporters will have to take to ensure their entry for the game on Wednesday, July 28 (7.30pm).

Tickets will be priced at £15 for adults, £10 for seniors and £5 for juniors, and are now available to home supporters with a database booking history and will remain on sale until 6pm on the day of the game.

Rovers fans can purchase seats in the Jack Walker Stand or Ronnie Clayton Blackburn End.

A club statement read: "Following positive talks with the EFL and Blackburn with Darwen’s Director of Public Health, Rovers can press ahead with plans to welcome both home and away fans back to Ewood Park.

"However, while it will be an exciting night for everyone connected with the club, we must adopt a safe and sensible approach as we take these first steps towards some sort of normality, to ensure the health and wellbeing of all players, staff and supporters."

To attend the game, supporters are urged to:

  • Take a Covid test before you travel to Ewood Park. Test kits can be collected from multiple dispensing points both in Blackburn and Leeds, and the surrounding areas.
  • If you test positive or feel unwell, do not travel to the stadium.
  • Supporters travelling on public transport and when in enclosed public spaces are requested to wear a face covering.
  • Hand-sanitiser stations will be readily available throughout the stadium and one-way systems in the concourse areas will be in operation to help the flow of fans.
  • Wearing a face covering is encouraged when inside the stadium.

Home supporters can buy their tickets by visiting www.eticketing.co.uk/onerovers or by calling 01254 372000.

The game will be Rovers’ sole home friendly of pre-season, and will come either side of away trips to League Two side Bradford City on Saturday, July 24 and League One outfit Bolton Wanderers a week later.

The Championship season will then begin with the visit of Swansea City on Saturday, August 7.

Around 250 Rovers fans snapped up tickets for the pre-season opener at AFC Fylde earlier this month where Connor McBride’s goal gave them a 1-0 victory, while they were beaten 1-0 by Everton in a behind closed doors fixture on Saturday.

For Leeds, their pre-season begins on Tuesday, July 27 with a trip to near neighbours Guiseley.

As well as facing Rovers, they will also travel to Fleetwood Town, managed by former United boss and Rovers defender, Simon Grayson, on Friday, July 30, before facing La Liga outfit Real Betis at Loughborough University the following day.

England star Kalvin Phillips isn’t expected to feature against Rovers following his involvement in the European Championships, but the rest of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad are expected to feature.

The sides last met in July 2020, Leeds running out 3-1 winners at Ewood, but Rovers did get the better of them in their previous meeting in East Lancashire, goals from Danny Graham and Darragh Lenihan helping them to a 2-1 win in October 2018.
