There is interest from Turkey in midfielder Pelly Ruddock who has been linked with filling one of the midfield vacancies at Ewood Park.

Ruddock is without a club after turning down the offer of a new deal at Luton Town where he has made close to 300 appearances, featuring in all but two of their games last season.

The Hatters had been keen to retain the services of the 27-year-old all-action midfielder but he is now assessing his options, with Middlesbrough and Rovers among the clubs thought to be keen on a move, the former said to be leading the chase.

Rovers are yet to make a move in the market, not helped by a registration embargo which prevented signings being made prior to this month, but business hasn’t picked up since its removal.

Reports in Turkey say that Hatayspor have met with Ruddock’s agent and a contract offer has been put forward.

Hatayspor finished sixth in the Turkish top flight last season and are keen to strengthen their ranks as they look to build on their recent upward trajectory, not promoted to the Super Lig until 2019/20.

Adam Reach, Stefan Johansen, Robbie Burton and Leighton Clarkson are other names in the mix to help fill Rovers’ gaps in midfield left following the departures of Lewis Holtby, Stewart Downing, Corry Evans and Tom Trybull.
