Rovers will host Swansea City on the opening day of the 2021/22 Championship season.

They were the opposition when Ewood Park last hosted supporters on February 29 2020, with 525 days separating that meeting and the opening day fixture.

Rovers' first away trip is to Millwall on August 14, while they are on the road four days later when they travel to Nottingham Forest.

They round off the opening month with a home game against West Brom before a trip to Middlesbrough.

There will be a Carabao Cup first round tie between the Swansea and Millwall fixtures, and should they make it into round two, then that will come on August 24/25.

The FA Cup third round is scheduled for the weekend of January 8/9, while the international breaks come on September 4, October 9, November 13 and March 26.

The Boxing Day fixture sees Rovers head to Hull City, a ground where they have won 1-0 on each of their previous two visits, before a home game with Barnsley three days later before welcoming Huddersfield Town to Ewood Park to open 2022.

The final day game at Birmingham City is scheduled for a 12.30pm kick-off.

All dates are subject to change.
