Tyler Magloire is wanted by League One newcomers Morecambe as Rovers start to field enquiries for their young players.

Magloire spent the first half of last season with Hartlepool, who were yesterday promoted back to the EFL, and the last six months with Scottish Premiership side Motherwell.

Both have expressed in an interest in Magloire returning next season, but it seems Morecambe, under new boss Stephen Robinson, are firmly in contention to sign the 22-year-old.

For Magloire it would be a second spell in the third tier after a disrupted spell with Rochdale in the first half of the 2019/20 campaign before returning to Rovers.

He has made two senior appearances, both in March 2019, against Wigan Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday but has fallen down the pecking order since the emergence of Hayden Carter who starred during his half season loan with Burton Albion, but is set to be part of the first-team squad for pre-season.

Magloire’s blistering pace saw him impress in last September’s friendly at Leicester City, but then he found himself out of the first-team picture and loaned to Hartlepool United where he made 10 appearances for the National League. He then played 12 times for Motherwell.

Rovers have a crop of young central defenders and another, Louie Annesley, also has eyes on a loan move after the 21-year-old signed a new two-year deal at Ewood Park.

That request is set to be granted should the right offer come for the Gibraltar international.

One player who is finalising a loan move is goalkeeper Joe Hilton after he signed a new contract.

Hilton spent time with Fleetwood Town and then finished the season with Ross County, but failed to make an appearance for the Scottish Premiership side.

He is now set for another loan spell north of the border, this time with Championship side Hamilton Academical.

Rovers are yet to bring in any new players in this summer window, but will add Harry Pickering to their ranks when they return to pre-season training next week.

Four players released by the club at the end of their contracts have secured new employers, the latest of which saw Brad Lyons signed for Scottish Championship side Kilmarnock.

Also heading up to Scotland was Charlie Mulgrew, penning a two-year deal at Dundee United.

Elliott Bennett signed for League One side Shrewsbury Town last week, while Tom White was the first to get fixed up, signing for AFC Barrow.

On the look-out for new clubs are Amari’i Bell, Corry Evans and Lewis Holtby, the latter who is expected to return to Germany.

Harry Chapman is expected to follow Bennett in joining the players to move on this summer, as despite the offer of a new deal on the table, the winger is yet to sign.
