Harry Chapman continues to blossom on loan at Shrewsbury Town and has boosted his options in the summer when his contract at Ewood Park comes to an end.

Chapman scored his sixth goal in 13 games for the League One side as the Shrews toppled a side Burton Albion side with Hayden Carter in the centre of their defence.

The 23-year-old has flourished out on loan after a stop-start period with Rovers which had seen him largely in the Under-23s set-up since re-joining the club on a permanent deal in January 2019.

But his spell with the Shrews, in which he’s helped them pull clear of the League One relegation places, will ensure that he won’t be short of offers in the summer.

And despite being yet to start a Championship match for Rovers, there remains the prospect of an extended Ewood Park stay given the form he’s shown out on loan in a division where he has starred previously for Rovers, as well as Sheffield United and Barnsley before that.

For now, Chapman is coming up with the goods for Shrewsbury Town, scoring the fourth winning goal of his time with the club since signing in January, and coach David Longwell believes the former Middlesbrough man is bringing some star quality to the ranks.

He told his club’s website: "Harry Chapman has real quality and I think he's added to his game. He has to do such a shift off the ball and he's getting used to that. He's helping the team and he got his rewards. If you put that work in, you'll get the rewards at times.”
