Amari’i Bell has received an international call-up for the first time.

Bell has been named in the Jamaica squad that will travel to Austria to face the United States in an international friendly on March 25.

He is one of six English-born players named in the squad, and comes two years after his first invitation to the national team which came ahead of the 2019 Gold Cup.

Bell has made 19 appearances for Rovers this season, and 96 in all since signing from Fleetwood Town in January 2018.

Also among the new faces in the squad are Curtis Tilt (Wigan Athletic on loan from Rotherham United), Ethan Pinnock (Brentford), Liam Moore (Reading), Wes Harding (Rotherham United) and Andre Gray (Watford).

Other English-based players in the squad are Adrian Mariappa (Bristol City) and Michael Hector (Fulham), while free agent Ravel Morrison has also received a call-up.

Bell will join up with the squad following Rovers’ game at Norwich City this weekend, and return ahead of the visit to Wycombe Wanderers on April 2.

He is the second Rovers player to be called up for national team duty for the March fixtures, but Ryan Nyambe has since been withdrawn from the Namibia squad for their game against Guinea with the country placed on the Government’s ‘red list’ that would have required him to isolate for 10 days upon his return.
