Tony Mowbray felt the displays of Ryan Nyambe and Ben Brereton were positives to take from the draw with Coventry City.

The pair linked up for Rovers’ goal, Nymabe getting in down the right to cross for Brereton to sweep home his fifth goal of the season, and second in as many games.

The attacker earned a recall to the side after scoring when coming off the bench in the midweek defeat to Watford.

Brereton started Rovers’ opening 15 matches before injury struck, and he’s found it difficult to regain his place on the left side of the attack since.

But back in the side, he was on the scoresheet once again, and Mowbray felt the pair who linked up for the goal, put in impressive displays.

“I’d have to say that Nyambe was immense. He obviously did brilliantly for our goal, but his defensive display, including his one-vs-one play was very good,” Mowbray told the club website.

“Ben had a good game and got himself his second in as many games.

“Injuries knock every player back and that’s what has happened to Ben over the past few weeks. Travis and Dack are the prime examples of that. You can’t be out for as long as they were out and expect everything to be as you left it. Ben took his goal brilliantly and he worked hard, but there are still a lot of growth areas for him as he’s still a young boy.

“I do think we’re capable of players other than (Adam) Armstrong pitching in with goals.

“It’s a disappointed dressing room which we’ll have to pick up again on Tuesday when we go to Reading.”
