Harry Chapman continues to shine at Shrewsbury Town – his fourth goal in Salop colours helping the League One side continue their remarkable rise up the table.

The Shrews have climbed off the foot of the table, and up to 17th, with Chapman playing a key role in their resurgence since signing on loan from Rovers.

The 23-year-old was named the club’s player of the month for January, scoring two in the win over Peterborough United, while starting February with a matchwinning goal at Swindon.

He followed that up with another goal as the Shrews ended Sunderland’s unbeaten away record, though there was concern when he went off injured in the second half.

Coach Aaron Wilbraham, who continues to lead the side as Steve Cotterill remains in hospital after contracting coronavirus, hopes to have Chapman available for the weekend visit of Ipswich Town.

“He rolled his ankle a little bit, he’s said he’s fine but we’ll have to see how he goes.

“I don’t think it was too bad but we’ll have to see how that settles down.”

Chapman made just seven appearances for Rovers this season prior to his loan move and is yet to hold down a place in the side since his return on a permanent basis in January 2019. His form won’t have gone unnoticed at Ewood Park, with a decision over his future due in the summer when his current deal expires.

Elsewhere, Brad Lyons scored the first goal of his professional career when grabbing a late equaliser for Morecambe against Bolton Wanderers.

Lyons headed home with his first touch, seconds after coming off the bench, to give his side a share of the spoils against 10-man Wanderers at the University of Bolton Stadium.

The 23-year-old, made his debut for the Shrimps in an FA Cup tie at Chelsea in January, and has since made four more substitute appearances in League Two following a period of self-isolation.

Lyons, signed from Coleraine in 2018, was on the bench for Rovers’ win over Rotherham United in December, his first senior involvement.

He moved to Morecambe after a run of six goals in six games for Rovers Under-23s.

Jack Vale, who moved to Rochdale on deadline day, made a second substitute appearance in the defeat to MK Dons. His debut came in last weekend’s defeat to Charlton.

The 19-year-old made his senior Rovers debut in the penultimate game of last season but missed the second half of 2020 through injury, before making two appearances for the Under-23s as part of his comeback.

Joe Grayson is still waiting to make his league debut for Oxford United after being an unused substitute for games against Doncaster and Bristol Rovers in recent days.

The 21-year-old, who signed for the Us on deadline day, made his Oxford debut the following day in a Papa John’s Trophy win over AFC Wimbledon.

Hayden Carter’s stop-start beginning to his Burton Albion career continued when their game with Blackpool was postponed on Tuesday less than an hour ahead of kick-off because of a frozen pitch.

The Brewers have played just three times in a month, with Carter featuring in them all after his loan switch, scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory at Gillingham and also part of the defence which kept a clean sheet in Saturday’s win over Hull City.

Tom White made his debut for Hartlepool United in their win over Solihull Moors having been loaned to the National League side last week after his time at Bolton Wanderers was cut short.
