TOTTENHAM want to sign Norwich City defender Max Aarons and then possibly loan him back to the Canaries.

Spurs see the 21-year-old as a player for the future but would struggle to get regular game time in Jose Mourinho’s side with Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty at the club.

Aarons has been ever-present for Norwich in the Championship this season – Daniel Farke’s side are currently top of the table, seven points clear of second-placed Swansea City.

LEEDS United are among a handful of clubs interested in signing Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson.

Burnley and Brentford are also reportedly among the sides eyeing the 19-year-old, who has impressed on his season-long loan spell at League One side Lincoln City this term, scoring seven goals in all competitions.

The teenager is capped for Wales after making his international debut back in November.

Johnson signed a new long-term deal at the City Ground last season, after making his debut under ex-boss Sabri Lamouchi.

The White could make a move during this window but more than likely will wait until the summer.

CELTIC are keen to sign Sheffield Wednesday defender Liam Shaw.

The Bhoys are looking to England for signings to kick start their disastrous season with Preston duo Ben Davies and Ben Pearson both wanted.

But it is Shaw who is the number one target and could be a potential bargain for Neil Lennon’s side.

Shaw is out of contract at the end of the season, and cross-border contract rules mean Celtic could sign him for minimal compensation.

The 19-year-old can play in central midfielder or at centre back, and has emerged as a shining light for Wednesday this season.

The boyhood Owls fan has played 12 games in all competitions this season, registering one goal and one assist whilst showing real promise.

BOURNEMOUTH boss Jason Tindall has revealed “nothing has been finalised” regarding Rangers’ pursuit of two of his players.

The Ibrox club have reportedly agreed pre-contract deals with Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh.

The Cherries duo have entered the final six months of their contract and are allowed to speak to interested parties like Rangers.

Due to his age, Ofoborh will require a cross-border compensation fee, while Simpson won't because he is over 23.

Defender Simpson, 24, has played just 35 times for the club across six seasons, while Ofoborh, a 21-year-old midfielder, has five Bournemouth appearances to his name.

SHEFFIELD Wednesday have been priced out of a move for Aberdeen star Sam Cosgrove.

The Owls approached the Dons about their star striker but weren’t able to get near their valuation.

Wednesday’s problem is that the Financial Fair Play rules and wage caps now in place in England’s lower leagues means they have to limit their spending.

Those constraints stopped the Owls’ from meeting Aberdeen’s asking price and the player’s individual demands.

The Dons had accepted £2.5 million from Guingamp in the last window but Cosgrove knocked the move back because it was on the final day of the French transfer deadline.
