JOSH KING'S hopes of joining Everton have reached a stumbling block due his wage demands.

The Cherries contract rebel can leave in the January window if a deal is done between clubs however his personal terms are causing headaches among his admirers.

The Norwegian, 29, is looking for top cash and that is cooling Everton’s interest.

The Toffees see him as a squad option rather than a guaranteed starter on a major wage.

Newcastle, Aston Villa and Fulham are also watching developments.

DIMITRIS Giannoulis is expected to be confirmed as Norwich City’s first January transfer window signing ahead of Bristol City’s midweek Championship visit.

The Greek international has reportedly already undergone his medical after the two clubs agreed an initial loan move that will become permanent if City seal Premier League promotion.

Barring any last minute hitches Giannoulis will complete a move that could rise to €7m, with a series of clauses that include a 20 per cent sell on fee to PAOK Salonika.

SWANSEA City midfielder Yan Dhanda is attracting interest from Bournemouth and Leeds United.

The 22-year-old had to bide his time for a run of games in Steve Cooper's side but has proved influential recently in their push for promotion which currently sees them second in the Championship table.

A former England U17 international, Dhanda joined Swansea from Liverpool to play more regularly and admitted before Christmas that he had had a number of one-to-one chats with Cooper about getting his chance.

CARDIFF City have re-opened talks with defender Perry Ng, according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old Crewe Alexandra captain has previously been linked with Derby County and rivals Nottingham Forest.

In February of last year, it was claimed Derby, Forest, Birmingham City and Bristol City were all interested in signing the versatile player but it seems Cardiff are eyeing him.

Cardiff initially had a £250,000 offer for Ng dismissed by Crewe, it was reported.

The Bluebirds have already signed striker Max Watters from Crawley as they look to get the season back on track.

PRESTON North End striker Jayden Stockley is free to leave the club in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old – a January 2019 signing from Exeter City – was not in the squad for North End’s 2-0 defeat to Bristol City yesterday, with no news of an injury picked up by the target man.

But there now may be an explanation for his absence with the Lilywhites apparently happy to let him leave the club on loan – if a buyer can pay his wages.

Stockley was in a rich vein of form for League Two outfit Exeter City before joining North End, scoring 16 goals in 25 games in the 2018/19 campaign for the Grecians.

But he has been unable to recapture that form at Deepdale.

ARSENAL are keeping tabs on Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, currently on loan at Swansea City.

The 23-year-old is on the shortlist of players Arsenal are currently looking at to address their goalkeeping problem. The club have been tracking him for a while, and his father is the head of u23 goalkeeping at Arsenal.

Woodman is on loan at Swansea City as things stand, for the second season in a row. He joined the Championship club from Newcastle United in 2019 and returned again this summer.

He is having an excellent campaign, keeping 15 clean sheets in 25 appearances so far. He’s only conceded 14 goals across all of those games, helping Swansea up to second in the table.
