JACK Wilshere has been impressing Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall so much in training that he could soon earn a short-term contract with the Championship side.

The former West Ham and Arsenal midfielder, who had a loan spell with the Cherries in 2016-17, has been working hard to get his fitness levels up as he looks to find his next club.

Wilshere cut ties with the Hammers in the summer and has been plotting his next move ever since.

NOTTINGHAM Forest have been in contact with Brighton in an attempt to sign defender Shane Duffy, but it will require Celtic to agree to cut his loan spell early with them if any deal is possible.

The 29-year-old moved from Premier League club Brighton to Scottish giants in the summer on a season-long loan.

But the Republic of Ireland international has found himself slip down the defensive pecking order after a positive start.

MILLWALL are among a host of Championship clubs chasing ex-Chelsea, Norwich City and Barnsley midfielder Cameron McGeehan.

The 25-year-old is currently in Belgium with KV Oostende after signing a three-year deal in August.

McGeehan spent the second half of last season on loan with League One side Portsmouth from Barnsley.

He played 17 games across all competitions for Pompey but missed the vital penalty in their shoot-out defeat to Oxford United in the play-off semi-finals.

At the end of the season, he moved to KV Oostende in Belgium’s top-flight where he has established himself as a regular.

JACK Clarke looks likely to finalise a loan move from Tottenham Hotspur to Stoke City.

The 20-year-old winger could make the move to the eighth-placed Championship club as both clubs tie up the final details of the switch until the end of the season.

Spurs rebuffed loan offers last summer for Clarke, who joined from Leeds United in 2019, with Jose Mourinho wanting to take a closer look at the player and help him develop by working closely with the likes of Son Heung-min, Gareth Bale and Harry Kane.

The Portuguese has been impressed with the young winger and now a decision has been made to get him minutes in the Championship to prepare him for a long-term future at Spurs.

Derby County are trying to sell players to raise money for their delayed wages.

The Rams have alerted clubs that the likes of Jason Knight and Louie Sibley could be sacrificed because of a major problem.

Derby were hoping for a takeover by Sheikh Khaled's Derventio Holdings to be finalised but the money has not come through and they do not have the funds to cover their salaries.

Wayne Rooney's Championship strugglers could potentially face players putting in their notice if the wages at 14 days late.

That would also lead to possible points penalties from the EFL.

County are set to speak to the EFL about their issues in an attempt to avoid punishment.

BRIGHTON defender Alex Cochrane is a target for Sunderland after Denver Hume was ruled out for two months with a hamstring injury.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan from the Seagulls at Belgium second division side Union St Gilloise.

However, Sunderland have initiated talks with Albion with Lee Johnson looking to sign a left back before the transfer window closes.

Cochrane has started Union’s last five games, but his deal includes a recall clause that enables the Seagulls to cut short their arrangement this month in order to loan the youngster elsewhere.

MIDDLESBROUGH have recalled striker Stephen Walker from MK Dons and could allow the player to join another club on loan before the end of January.

The 20-year-old was due to stay with The Dons until the end of the season but returned to Rockliffe on Wednesday.

It comes after Walker scored twice in MK Dons’ 2-0 EFL Trophy win over Northampton earlier this week.

The striker has made 12 appearances in League One this season, scoring twice, yet just five of those have been starts.
