Rovers have allowed young central defender Hayden Carter to join Burton Albion on loan for the remainder of the season.
The club have been looking to get Carter, who made two senior appearances for the club last season, a loan switch to further his development.
He has been overlooked during Rovers’ injury crisis in defence, with Bradley Johnson preferred alongside Darragh Lenihan with Daniel Ayala, Derrick Williams and Scott Wharton all out injured.
But the loan switch to the Brewers should give the 21-year-old more experience of senior football, having made just one senior appearance this term.
Central defender Tyler Magloire is set to return from his loan spell from Hartlepool United after this weekend before a decision is taken on his future.
Burton appointed Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink as their new manager last week, replacing Jake Buxton who took charge in the summer.
The Brewers have lost their last five matches, including a 5-1 home defeat to Oxford United in Hasselbaink’s first game in charge, and with just one win since September, they sit bottom of the table.
Carter could make his debut in Saturday’s game at Gillingham.
