AS a new era dawns at Turf Moor, another has come to an end with long-serving board members stepping down.

Barry Kilby, who served as chairman for 13 years, and was also vice chairman, has relinquished his position on the board after a total of 22 years following the acquisition of the club by ALK Capital.

Clive Holt, the longest serving member of the board, is also stepping down after over 30 years.

Brendan Flood, who was the club's operational director under Kilby's stewardship, Brian Nelson and Terry Crabb have also relinquished their positions.

A club statement read: "Burnley Football Club would like to place on record its thanks to the directors who depart the club with immediate effect, following the acquisition by ALK Capital."

Outgoing chairman Mike Garlick and major shareholder John Banaskiewicz will retain positions on the new board, which will be headed by Alan Pace, the incoming chairman and managing partner of ALK Capital.

One of the first games to be played under the club's new owners will be the re-arranged game at home to Manchester United.

The fixture was originally scheduled for the opening day of the season, but it was postponed due to United's involvement in the Europa League semi-final.

The Turf Moor clash will now take place on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 (kick-off 8.15pm), and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
