A date has been confirmed for Rovers’ FA Cup third round tie with Doncaster Rovers – which fans will be able to watch free of charge.

The two sides meet at Ewood Park on Saturday, January 9, with a 3pm kick-off.

The sides were paired together in last month’s draw, having already met once this season.

That came in August after the two sides were dawn against each other in the Carabao Cup, with goals from Lewis Holtby, Joe Rankin-Costello and an Adam Armstrong penalty helping Rovers to a 3-2 victory.

It will be Rovers’ second game in 2021, starting the New Year with a trip to Birmingham City on January 2.

The game will be shown on the FA Player, offering supporters the chance to watch the tie free of charge.

It states on the FA website: “The following Emirates FA Cup third round fixtures have been chosen for broadcast free to fans on The FA Players, exclusively delivered to homes by Deliveroo.

“The FA live broadcast fee for these fixtures is £20,000.

The winner of the third round ties will bank a further £61,500 from the prize fund, with those knocked out receiving £20,500.
