Millwall arrive at Ewood Park on the back of four successive clean sheets away from home and with just one defeat on their travels.

However, they could be without influential Jake Cooper whose record of playing every minute of their last 136 Championship matches is under threat.

Cooper played through the pain barrier in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Birmingham City despite suffering a dislocated shoulder for which he has undergone a scan.

Boss Gary Rowett is hopeful the 25-year-old will be fit to face Rovers, and extend his incredible run of starts, with Millwall having been without Kenneth Zohore, Billy Mitchell, Mahlon Romeo, and Mason Bennett at the weekend.

Rowett doesn’t see the situation changing too much before the trip to Rovers, with striker Bennett the most likely of those absent players to feature.

Whether Cooper does will depend upon the results of a scan, but Rowett isn’t ruling out Cooper being involved.

He told the South London Press: “I don’t think there is ever an issue dislocating a shoulder when it is popped back in. It is about assessing the chances of it re-dislocating and that depends on the damage that occurred when it was originally dislocated, not going on what Coops’ said.

“We’re hopeful that he’ll be available.”

Another player who will also miss out on Wednesday night is former Rovers winger Connor Mahoney.

The 23-year-old, who left Rovers in 2017, has missed the last three matches with a quadricep injury which is expected to sideline him for the upcoming matches.

No side in the division has conceded fewer goals on the road than Millwall after their 0-0 draw at Birmingham City, their third stalemate in a row away, after recent trips to Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City.

That means it is five draws in a row for Rowett’s men who are one point, and two places, below Rovers in the standings.
