ROBBIE Brady has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for next month's internationals, despite missing the last two games for Burnley with a fractured rib.

The winger sustained the injury in the Clarets' Premier League opener away to Leicester City and has not featured since.

However, Burnley boss Sean Dyche last week confirmed it was only a minor fracture, which is expected to accelerate his recover.

That is the hope of Republic of Ireland boss Stephen Kenny ahead of key games, with the upcoming Euro 2020 play-off against Slovakia followed by the Nations League games against Wales and Finland.

Brady suffered a chest injury on the last international camp, but the rib problem is a separate issue.

The Republic of Ireland squad will meet up on Sunday, following Burnley's late game at Newcastle on Saturday (kick-off 8pm).

They will train at the FAI’s National Training Centre in Abbotstown before flying to Slovakia on Tuesday.
