ACCRINGTON Stanley will operate with a reduced capacity of 1,535 once fans are allowed back into the Wham Stadium.

The Reds have been in discussions with the Accrington Stanley Supporters Trust and the Stanley Ultras for how matchdays will be managed under the EFL Matchday Protocol for Return to Elite Socially Distanced Competition (Stages 3 and 4).

The season kicks off behind closed doors, with the first game against Leeds United U21s in the EFL Trophy on September 8, followed by the visit of Peterborough United for the opening game of the League One season on September 12.

But beyond that up to 1,535 will be able to watch Stanley in action from early October, as this limit will ensure that supporters will be able to watch games socially distanced throughout the stadium - a policy which will remain in place until all EFL and Government restrictions are lifted.

The proposals are subject to a successful test event, which is scheduled to be their home game against Oxford United on September 26, when 770 supporters will be allowed into the stadium, all socially distanced around the four stands in both seated and standing areas.

In the interests of fairness, the club intends to admit the first 770 supporters who purchase season tickets, which go on sale on September 1.

In addition, for the behind closed doors games, it is the club’s intention to supply streaming passes for season ticket holders.

If all goes to plan with the test event, the first game with the new maximum number of fans will be the EFL Trophy group stage game at home to Blackpool on October 6, with season ticket holders again taking priority.

Season ticket prices range from £229 for adults to £23 for Under 12s - £1 per game - and can be purchased in person at the club shop during office hours, by telephone on 01254 356950 (option 1 - ticket sales) or via email application to seasonticket@accringtonstanley.co.uk, after which you will be contacted by a member of staff for your contact and payment details.

Current season ticket holders will have priority to purchase their season tickets from 12 noon on September 1 until 7pm on September 10.

From September 11 any remaining season tickets up to the 1,535 maximum restricted allowance will go on general sale.
