Rovers will start their 2020/21 Championship campaign with a trip to Bournemouth.

Tony Mowbray's side will travel to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, September 12 to begin their 2020/21 adventure against the recently-relegated Cherries.

This year marks a decade since Rovers last won on the opening day of the season, not claiming victory since a 1-0 win over Everton in 2010/11 courtesy of a Nikola Kalinic strike.

The first Ewood home game will come on Saturday, September 12 against newly-promoted Wycombe Wanderers.

Rovers will face a busy December period, with eight games in all, but for the first time in five years there will be no fixtures on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.

They are at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day, and start 2021 with a trip to Birmingham City.

The two games against Preston North End come in November and Friday. The Deepdale meeting will take place on a Tuesday night (November 24), with the Ewood fixture coming on Saturday, February 13.

Rovers round off their campaign with a home fixture against Birmingham City.

All fixtures are subject to change, with no kick-off time yet agreed for the final day fixtures.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Rovers begin their pre-season fixtures with a trip to Fleetwood Town tomorrow (August 22), one of four currently scheduled friendlies during the off season.

They have been paired with League One side Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup first round tie which will be played at Ewood Park on either August 29 or September 5.
