ACCRINGTON Stanley will meet a familiar foe in the Carabao Cup, after being handed a trip to Burton Albion in the first round.
The teams were non-league rivals and have faced each other 16 times since both were promoted to the Football League.
Stanley had the upper hand in their League One meetings last season, recording a 2-0 win at home in December before going on to draw 1-1 at the Pirelli Stadium the following month.
The draw for the EFL competition kicks off the new season, and although the date of the game has yet to be confirmed it is expected to be played on September 5 - behind closed doors - ahead of the league campaign starting the following weekend.
This is the first time Stanley and the Brewers have been draw together in a cup competition since their non-league days.
They went head to head in the FA Trophy in 2004, with Burton running out 4-2 winners.
