WANDERERS have confirmed their second signing of the day with the addition of big centre-back Ricardo Santos on a two-year deal.

The 6ft 6ins Portugal-born defender helped Barnet to the play-offs in the National League last season and also has EFL experience with Peterborough United.

Santos, 25, spent three years at Barnet and made 84 appearances, netting six goals.

“I’m very happy to have signed for Bolton Wanderers and am grateful for this opportunity. I cannot wait to get going,” he told the club.

“The club really sells itself and after having a brief chat with the gaffer, who told me about his plans, I just really wanted to be a part of it.”

Ian Evatt, who earlier today added Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Billy Crellin to his squad on loan for the season, believes his new signing has both the physical and technical attributes to be a success at Bolton.

“We’re delighted to have Ricardo Santos joining us,” he said.

“He is a player I have admired for while. He’s 6ft 6ins tall but extremely quick and very good with the ball at his feet.

“Ricardo has all the attributes required to be an outstanding centre-back for this football club.”
