Danny Graham will leave Rovers after four years at the club – with talks ongoing with Stewart Downing over the possibility of extended Ewood Park stay.

Richie Smallwood, one of Rovers’ stalwarts of the League One promotion season, will also depart ash is contract expired after three years at the club.

Dominic Samuel, Jayson Leutwiler and Sam Hart, who all joined the club in the summer of 2017, will also leave at the end of their contracts.

While those five depart after the end of their contracts, the loan deals for goalkeeper Christian Walton and central defender Tosin Adarabioyo are also at an end, with the pair returning to Brighton and Manchester City respectively.

Downing is now out of contract, after his one year deal signed after joining from Middlesbrough last summer, came to an end.

He didn’t feature in the midweek defeat at Luton Town, the first matchday squad he hasn’t been involved in this season, having impressed in his 43 appearances.

Rovers will hope to strike a deal with the versatile former England international ahead of the new season, as Mowbray builds his squad for the 2020/21 campaign.

Graham, who made his 600th career appearance in Wednesday’s final league fixture away to Luton Town, signed for Rovers on loan from Sunderland in January 2016, before putting pen-to-paper on a permanent deal after scoring seven goals in 18 games.

He leaves having scored 57 goals in 191 appearances, as well as winning the club’s player of the award in 2018/19.

Graham netted 17 times in the League One promotion season, with Richie Smallwood an ever-present in the side as Rovers made an immediate return to the Championship.

The tough-tackling midfielder leaves after three seasons, and 87 appearances, but just two of those came this season.

Samuel was another who featured heavily in the League One promotion campaign, only for a cruciate knee ligament to derail his 2019/20 campaign.

A £500,000 signing from Reading in 2017, the forward scored twice in 15 appearances this season, and 10 times in all across his three years at the club.

Jayson Leutwiler was signed as back-up goalkeeper to David Raya in the same summer, joining from Shrewsbury Town, but it wasn’t until the penultimate match of that campaign, at Charlton, where he made his league debut.

The Canadian has continued to be understudy to Christian Walton this season, and leaves in the likelihood of pursuing first-team football on a more regular basis, with just 13 Rovers matches to his name.

The final departure is left back Sam Hart, who has had four separate spells out on loan since his last Rovers appearance in December 2017, four months after he first joined the club from Liverpool

A club statement read: “Rovers would like to place on record its sincere thanks and gratitude to all of the players leaving the club this summer for their dedication, contribution and the memories they have provided and we wish them well in their future careers.”
