Burnley boss Sean Dyche has been forced into naming a severely depleted squad for Monday night’s trip to Manchester City.

Having expressed his frustration about the club’s handling of its out of contract players, Dyche is unable to call on any of the five whose deals are nearing an end.

Jeff Hendrick, Phil Bardsley, Aaron Lennon, Joe Hart and Adam Legzdins are therefore absent at the Etihad Stadium with Robbie Brady joining Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes and Johann Berg Gudmundsson on the injury list.

Dyche has named just seven of the nine allowed substitutes including two goalkeepers, with Lukas Jensen joining Bailey Peacock-Farrell on the bench.

Under-23 defender Bobby Thomas and second year scholar Max Thompson are also among the replacements.
