It seems simple, but appears to have been confirmed, that when the Championship resumes next month it will be done so by playing out the fixtures in their original order.

The Premier League announced on Thursday their season would resume on June 17, with teams with games in hand set to play those first, before the rest of the league resumes on the weekend of June 20.

No date has yet been set for a re-start for the Championship season, though despite returning to training a week after their Premier League counterparts, it’s expected they will also return to action on, or around, June 20.

There are no such issues around games in hand in the Championship, with all teams having played 37 matches, leaving them each with nine to play, and 108 in total.

At the unveiling of new Luton boss Nathan Jones, Hatters chief executive Gary Sweet said: “As was planned, the Championship is going to play the rest of the season in the order that it was structured in terms of fixtures."

The EFL has outlined its plan to try and finish the regular fixtures, and play-offs, before July 31 to ease any concerns over the expiry of player contracts. Clubs have until June 23 to outline to their out-of-contract players whether or not they intend to offer them a new deal, release them, or agree an extension until the end of the 2019/20 season.

The season was suspended on March 13, 24 hours ahead of Rovers’ home game with Bristol City. That means Tony Mowbray’s side haven’t been in action since their defeat to Derby County on March 8 which left them 10th in the table, three points outside the top six.

Four of Rovers’ remaining fixtures are at Ewood Park, including the visits of the division’s top two, Leeds and West Brom. They also face trips to the current bottom two, Barnsley and Luton Town.

So here are Rovers’ remaining fixtures, in the order they were due to be played:

Rovers v Bristol City

Wigan Athletic v Rovers

Barnsley v Rovers

Rovers v Leeds United

Cardiff City v Rovers

Rovers v West Bromwich Albion

Millwall v Rovers

Rovers v Reading

Luton Town v Rovers
