JACK Cork believes the consistency Burnley have shown in recent weeks is what they have been missing all season.

A seven-game unbeaten stretch has lifted the Clarets into European contention when at one point it looked as if they would be scrapping at the wrong end of the table.

Now on the back of the 1-1 draw against Tottenham at Turf Moor they head to Manchester City on Saturday 10th in the Premier League and looking to extend that run further.

"It's just great to have that consistency,” said Cork.

“We've been crying out for it all season because we haven't had that run of results.

“It's nice to have that consistency and confidence that we've been missing.

"It's a tough league this year. There are no teams that you look at and think 'they've got no chance, they're not doing very well'.

“You look at Norwich who are a tough team to face and they won at Tottenham [on penalties in the FA Cup].

“All the teams above them have great players as well, internationals, it's a strong league and you never know who is going to beat who whenever you look at the fixtures.

“It'll be interesting to see how many points does guarantee safety this year.”

That consistency extends to the dugout with Cork praising it as one of Sean Dyche’s best qualities.

"He's always consistent with everything that he does,” said the midfielder.

“That's one of the good things about him, he never gets too carried away. He never gets too down and you need that at a time when things are tough.

"He won't be getting carried away [even now]. He'll be looking at the next game, getting us ready for it because he knows that there definitely aren't any freebies in this league.

“We only get results when we're 100 per cent on it. We can't take our foot off the gas.

“It would be unbelievable if we can make it eight unbeaten!"
