Saturday was one of those games where you’d have taken a point before kick-off but come the end you’re disappointed to only walk away with a point, writes Tom Schofield.

It’s the second season in a row where we have lost a two goal lead at Griffin Park, this one was hugely different to last season though.

Brentford are a classy side and you could see and feel their quality on the ball, our energy and desire was unmatched though.

It took an unbelievable strike and a dodgy penalty decision to break down what I thought was a resolute Rovers defence.

For all the talk of Mowbray’s defenders are coming line, for now at least we look a difficult team to break down.

It was a performance I feel that sums up what it is going to take for us to one day potentially make our way back to the Premier League. Hard work and a willingness to leave it all on the pitch.

Match that with the quality of the likes of Adam Armstrong and Lewis Travis then there is no reason that we can’t continue our little run.

With two huge home games coming up, we are in a position where we can hopefully put six points on the board and continue our unlikely play-off push.

I would like to finish this week’s column by congratulating Tony Mowbray and thank him for his three years in charge.

It’s no secret that very few were inspired by his appointment, but the job he has done is nothing short of magnificent.

I have been critical of aspects of his management and I feel they have been fair until he proves me wrong the following week that is!

He has brought our club back to us though and for that I will be forever grateful.

Happy anniversary Tony Mowbray.
