BURNLEY target Josh Brownhill has a release clause in his Bristol City contract, according to reports.
The highly-rated former Preston North End midfielder is available for £7 million in the summer per the terms of a deal signed in December 2017.
Bristol Live report that could prompt some clubs to move for his services this month - with a figure of between £8 million and £10 million quoted - and beat the rush for his services at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old Robins skipper has five goals in 28 appearances in all competitions this season and is widely regarded as one of the top talents in the Championship.
A move for Brownhill may not be the only piece of business between the clubs with Nahki Wells a reported Ashton Gate target.
The striker has scored 14 goals during a second season-long loan with QPR and will leave Turf Moor if the deal is right for the Clarets.
Wells has made just 10 substitute appearances for Burnley since a £5 million move from Huddersfield in August of 2017.
His contract is due to expire in the summer but there is a one-year option in favour of the Clarets.
