Accrington striker Offrande Zanzala believes the prospect of playing at Wembley will give Stanley an extra boost ahead of their Leasing.com Trophy last 16 clash at Fleetwood tonight.

The 23-year-old insists that there is still plenty of work to do before they can start dreaming of the club’s first-ever visit to the rebuilt national stadium with another two victories needed.

The two sides have met twice this season, with one home win each.

The Cod Army took the spoils with a 2-0 victory in League One in August, but Stanley didn’t have to wait long for their revenge, winning 2-1 in the group stage of tonight’s competition.

Stanley boss John Coleman believes the winner of tonight’s tie will make it all the way to the final, but Zanzala stressed that there are still plenty of good teams left in the competition.

“Getting to the final and playing at Wembley is something every player wants to do, it would be a great experience,” he said.

“Obviously there’s still a long way to go and Fleetwood are a tough team. After that there’s other teams who may not be in the same league as us but will still be strong. Every side from now until the final has a chance, it’s all about who turns up on the day. As a player and as a team we get a buzz every time we go out and play, it’s something different when we know there’s a prize at the end of it.

“Playing at Wembley would be a great, It’d be a good day to get there for the fans, club and community as a whole.

“It’d be a memory that would last a long time for me and other players, we might not ever get a chance to play there.

“Hopefully we can get there but we can’t get too far ahead of ourselves.”

The striker has scored six goals in 16 appearances since returning from a hamstring injury and admits he’s got his eye on finishing the season as the club’s top-scorer, Colby Bishop currently leading the way with 12.

“As a striker it’s always competitive, I want to be first for everything,” said Zanzala.

“I’ve come back from a hamstring injury so it’s only a case of what I can do now and score as many goals this season I can.

“Of course, the top-scorers list is something I keep my on.

“It’s not impossible for me to catch them up, I need to go into games believing I can score and see what happens.”
