BURNLEY boss Sean Dyche was pleased with his side’s second-half display despite going down 2-0 to Manchester United.
The Clarets brought down the curtain on 2019 with a frustrating home defeat, the Turf Moor reverse coming two days after their 1-0 loss at Everton.
Charlie Taylor’s error allowed Andreas Pereira to feed Anthony Martial for the opener just a minute before half-time with Marcus Rashford making sure of the victory five minutes into stoppage time at the end of the game.
Dyche looked to the positives post-match with his side upping the tempo after the interval, only to be caught out late on.
He pointed to Taylor’s mistake as a turning point, Dwight McNeil having been punished in similar circumstances at Goodison Park on Boxing Day.
"Two back-to-back games that have been frustrating really because two mistakes at key times have affected the outcome,” Dyche said.
"But a lot of good things from the performance. We were playing a top side.
“Generally first half we handled it well and then a mistake changes the feel.
“I thought second half we responded to that really well. I was really pleased with the second-half performance."
